Khandala Tours

Khandala is located at an altitude of 625 meters on the Sahyadri mountain range in Maharashtra. The place is famous for its scenic splendor-an ideal destination for honeymoon couples and lovers. The place till date is not affected by industrialization. On Mumbai- Banglore Highway tourists visit Borghat or Khandala Ghat. For its rugged terrain this Ghat is very difficult to climb. Khandala experiences pleasant weather throughout the year.

A myriad of tourist destinations are available in Khandala. There are verdant hills, lush green valleys, huge lakes, Historic forts and waterfalls, etc. En route from Mumbai to Lonavala, a splendid garden called Rajmachi Park provides a feast to the eyes. A temple in the vicinity of the Park receives thousands of devotees and tourists every year.

Ryewood is a garden occupied with majestic trees. Old Mahadeo Temple is a major attraction in this Park. The Park derives its name from an English officer named Mr. Rye who stayed in this place for some time.

Duke's Nose derives its name form Duke Wellington. Actually the cliff resembles his pointed nose. The valley also appears like the hood of a snake so it is also called Nagfani.

Shivaji Park named after an important historical figure-the most puissant Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The Park exhibits a statue of Shivaji.

Lohagad Darshan is a small garden located in Bhangarwadi. For children there are many playthings at this Park. A big statue of Savarkar also finds its place here.

Kune Falls is situated between Lonavala and Khandala. Though it is a seasonal waterfall, it flows long even after the monsoons are over. Water cascading down the hill from an altitude of more than 100 meter is an appealing sight.

The other attractions are Tiger's Leap, Sakur Plateau, Monkey Hill, Reversing Station and Amruntanjan Point. One can reach Khandala very easily because Khandala is well connected with other parts of the country by a fine network of airways, roadways and railways.
