Manas Wildlife Sanctuary
Manas Wildlife Sanctuary was declared a sanctuary in 1928. In 1985, it got the status of World Heritage Site. Earlier it was known as North Kamrup. There are approximately 19 most endangered species of animals in the park. The wetlands or swampy area of Manas is best suitable for fast - disappearing hispid hare and pygmy hog. The animals found in the Park are rhino, wild buffalos, elephants, swamp deer, capped langur, clouded leopard and gaur. The avian population at the Park consists the pied and grey varieties of giant hornbill
Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary
Kaziranga National Park is famous for one horned rhino. Covering an area of about 430 square kilometers, the Park is set along the banks of Brahmaputra River. The vegetation in the Park consists of tall thickets of elephant grass and patches of evergreen forest. In the year 1940, the Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary. The tourists are taken on Elephant Safaris or Jeep safaris to go around the Park.
Nameri National Park
Spreading on an area of about 200 square kilometers, Nameri National Park is famous for providing refuge to herds of Elephants. River Jia Bhoroli flowing through the Park makes the Park the most scenic spot. Nameri is a home to the endangered species like Sloth Bear, White Winged Wood Duck, Clouded Leopard, Tiger, Black bear, elephant, Indian Bison, Pangolin, Indian wild dog, deer, Civet Cat, Capped Langur, Jackals, Sambar, Gaur and four varieties of Hornbill.
