Cherrapunji receives world's heaviest rainfall. The region is located at an altitude of 4,500 feet above sea level in Meghalaya. The mountain chains are hid in the clouds. Here the rainfall can be recorded in feet.

The places to be seen in Cherrapunji are Mawsmai Falls (a bewitching spectacle), Khasi Monoliths (stones in memory of their ancestors) and views of Orchids blooming.
