Pelling in Sikkim is situated at an altitude of 2,085 meters above sea level. The Peak overlooks the glaciers and peaks of Kanchenjunga. The beautiful little village of Pelling is located at a distance of 133 kilometers from Siliguri and 125 kilometers from Gangtok.
Sanga Choling Monastery is at a distance of 4 kilometers from Pelling. It is one of the oldest gompas in Sikkim. It is one of the creations of Lhatsun Chenpo. It has some original clay statues.
Due to its proximity to Kanchenjunga, many resorts and hotels have been opened in Pelling. These resorts and hotels offer a luxurious stay and provide best accommodation facilities.
Pemayangtse Monastery is one of the oldest and most important monasteries of Sikkim. Pemayangtse word literally means Perfect Sublime Lotus. The monastery was founded in 1705 and belongs to the Nyingma-pa sect. The building of the monastery is three storied. The monastery exhibits a fine collection of wall paintings and sculptures.
Sangachoeling Monastery can be approached by 45 minutes walk from Pelling.
Khechepalri Lake is a sacred lake of Sikkim. Even the birds know the sanctity of the Lake and do not allow even a single leaf to float on the surface.
