Badrinath Tours

One of the four Dhams visited by Hindu devotees and holiest of them all-Badrinath is surrounded by two mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan on two sides with Neelkanth peak on the backdrop. Located on the right bank of river Alaknanda, Badrinath, the temple town is in the Garhwal region of Uttaranchal state. Sri Shankaracharya founded a Math here in 8th century AD and a legend says that the temple dates back to the Vedic era. Known as tapobhoomi and Baikunth (heaven on earth) it is famous for the temple of god Vishnu -the preserver. Staunch Hindu devotees seeking salvation unconditionally visit it. Destination India Tourism takes you to this heaven on earth through its on line booking.

The place was once full of wild berries and was called Badrivan (forest of berries) and therefore the place is called Badrinath. There are many hot water and thermal springs like tapt kund and Narad Kund in the area. Because of its scenic beauty and religious sanctity the place is visited by large number of tourists and pilgrims.

Best season to visit Badrinath:

The place can be visited from May to October. The temple of Badrinathji opens up every year in May and closes for winter in November as the temperature goes down below zero and there is a heavy snowfall.
