Corbett Park is known not only for its exotic flora and fauna but also for its majestic landscape, scenic charm and breathtaking view. It also has a vast reservoir formed by the Kalagarh Dam across the river Ramganga. It is spread in two districts of Uttaranchal of Nainital and Pauri.It has become one of the Tiger reserves in the country under the project tiger scheme launched in 1973.Its unique location between the Himalayan and tarai region offers a variety of landscape for viewing. The park is surrounded by thick Sal forest and serves as an ideal habitat for variety of plant and animal life. The park covers an area of 520.8sq.km.It consists of around 50 mammal species, 25 reptile species and more than 100 tree species.
One of the finest habitats of tiger in India, Corbett is especially known for its ferocious and majestic tigers and tourists from all over the world visit the place to see them. Besides it has a rich avian population and 600 species of birds can be found here. Other important animal species in the Corbett are sloth bear, Jungle cat, Himalayan black bear, wild dog, jackal, Himalayan palm civet, Indian gray mongoose, antelopes etc.

When to visit?
Corbett National Park can be visited from November 15 to June 15. It remains closed for visitors from June16 to November14.

By Air: nearest airport is at Pantnagar.
By rail: nearest railhead is at Ramnagar,
By Road: It takes 6hrs.to reach Corbett from Delhi via Hapur-Muradabad -Ramnagar.
