Vaishno Devi Pilgrimage Tours
Vaishno Devi in Jammu is the most popular pilgrimage in India. Every year pilgrims visit Vaishno Devi to pay homage to Goddess Vaishno Devi. People who come with a pure heart are supposedly blessed by the Goddess.
There is a legend associated with the shrine. 700 years ago Vaishno Devi was meditating when Bhairo Nath, a tantrik demon pursued her. The Goddess had taken a vow of celibacy. So she tried to run away from him. While running she reached Trikuta Mountains she felt thirsty. She shot an arrow into the earth from where water came gushing out. This place is known by the name of Banganga. Goddess took some rest at Charan Paduka, where she left an imprint of her feet embedded in the earth.
She hid to meditate in Adhkawari cave and stayed there for nine months. So the cave came to be known as Garbh Joon (the womb). Bhairo discovered her after a span of nine months. Furious Goddess blew an opening with her Trident and escaped. Then in an incarnation of Mahakali she cut off Bhairo's head with force that it fell at a distance. Today Bhairo's Temple stands there.
It is mandatory that one should visit Bhairo's Temple before visiting the Temple of Vaishno Devi. The shrine is located at an altitude of 5,200 feet above sea level.
After visiting Vaishno Devi, you can enjoy the chilled air and snow capped mountains of Patni Top. The tourists can enjoy the games like sledging, skiing and many more..
